Vijay Sethupathi's Surprise CAMEO in Family Man 3 Steals The Spotlight As His Witty Banter With Manoj Bajpayee Delights Fans Everywhere!

The third season of The Family Man launched today, with Manoj Bajpayee returning as Srikant Tiwari opposite a formidable new antagonist, Rukma (played by Jaideep Ahlawat) — a major NorthEast drug-smuggler who raises the stakes for the series. But what really ignited the buzz online was a surprise cameo from Vijay Sethupathi, stepping in as Michael Vedanayagam — the Special Task Force officer from the hit show Farzi — creating a crossover that fans didn’t see coming.

Sethupathi’s Michael is introduced in Episode 6, when Srikant and his colleague JK (Sharib Hashmi) sneak into Myanmar in pursuit of Rukma. To aid their mission, Michael is brought in to help them bypass fencing and illicit entry routes. The exchange between Srikant and Michael is laced with deadpan humour and sharp repartee — the banter has quickly become a highlight of the season. One viewer posted:

The interaction has left fans cheering and sharing reaction clips across social media.

Interestingly, the crossover nod was seeded earlier: in Farzi’s first season, Michael had phoned Srikant for help, hinting at a wider shared universe. Meanwhile, in Season 2 of The Family Man, the retired spy Chellam Sir was shown reaching out to Michael, further laying groundwork for this intersection.

Altogether, Season 3 blends the high-octane spy game of The Family Man with this unexpected injection of Farzi’s character-driven flair — and with Sethupathi’s cameo stealing the spotlight, the crossover moment is already being hailed as a memorable peak in the franchise’s arc.
